A few words about the center –

Some of the exams at Ono will be held at the Computer-Based Testing Center.

The Center’s innovation is the option to register for the exam on the day and at the time that are most convenient for you, within a 6- to 8-week window that will be predefined for you; this time frame will appear on the exam schedule on your website. Within this timeframe, you can register for Session A and even Session B, and you can also file an appeal to challenge the exam you took—if you deem it necessary to do so.

This means there won't be a single exam date for the entire class, but rather a variety of options that will be available on your website for individual registration.

Students who have been granted accommodations for a separate room must register at least 10 days before the exam to receive these accommodations; cancellations for a separate room must be made at least 48 hours before the exam session. Good luck!!

It is very important to note: Please be sure to register for the test sessions scheduled for the first two to three weeks. The longer you delay your registration, the less certain your spot will be, and as a result, there may not be a spot available for you on the first and/or second test dates. Your exam period at the Computer-Based Testing Center is limited and cannot be extended.

  • Where is the testing center located?

The center is located on the 5th floor of the Ono Campus, in Rooms 536–537, with separate workstations for each student.

  • What equipment is available at each testing station?

Each station is equipped with a desktop computer and headphones to allow the exam to be read aloud and to create a quiet environment for the test-taker. 

  • What are the center's hours of operation?

Sunday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Fridays, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

  • What is allowed in the exam room?
  • Personal belongings should be placed in the lockers located across from the center's rooms.
  • It is prohibited to bring food into the exam rooms.
  • You may bring only beverages in sealed bottles.
  • How do I register for the exam?

Go to the Student Information Center—under the “Exams and Assignments” menu—and select “Register for Exams” in the Computer-Based Testing Center. There, you’ll see the exam details for your course. Click the “Register for Exam” button, and a list of available exam sessions will open. Select a session based on the time and date that are most convenient for you.

  • When can I start registering for the exam?

Registration for the exam will open about two weeks before the end of the semester (in this regard, please check the announcements from the administration and faculty on the course website in case there are any changes to the start dates of the registration period).

  • When is the deadline to register for the exam?

You can register starting 12 hours before your selected date and time. For example, if you want to take the exam on Monday at 12:00 p.m., registration for that date and time will close on Sunday at 11:59 a.m.

  • What is required to take the exam or file an appeal?

A photo ID (photos taken with a cell phone will not be accepted). Please arrive about half an hour before the scheduled time.

  • I signed up for a specific date, but I've changed my mind and want to cancel.

You must cancel your registration at least 12 hours in advance; If you do not cancel, it will be considered a no-show.

  • What about registering for the second session?

You can register for the second exam within 3 days of the publication of the scores for the first exam.

***If you have chosen to appeal Session A—please read the appeal conditions below before registering for Session B***

  • Will the instructor be present during the exam?

Exams at the center will be administered without a lecturer present and therefore you will be given the option to skip two questions on the exam.

  • How do you start the exam?

When you arrive at Room 536, leave all your belongings in the lockers located in front of the center. Bring your ID with you. After you’ve been identified by the proctors on site, the proctor will seat you at your designated station. You must enter your ID number and the identification code provided to you by the proctors on site—and the exam will open automatically.

  • What kind of test will be administered at the center?

Initially, students will take only multiple-choice exams; later in the year, the exams will also include essay-style questions.

  • How many questions are on the test?

The number of questions on the exam is at the discretion of the course instructors.

  • How long is the exam?

The length of the exam is also at the discretion of the course instructors.

A timer will appear on the exam screen to help you manage your time; once the preset time has elapsed, the exam will close.

For those eligible for extra time, the exam will end when the time allotted to each individual has elapsed.

  • I only answered some of the questions, and the test closed. What happens to those questions?

If you clicked "Save" at the end of each question, the questions you answered will be saved and forwarded to the instructor.

  • Is it possible to go to the restroom during the exam?

In accordance with the student handbook, students are not permitted to leave the exam room to use the restroom for the first two hours of the exam.

During an exam that lasts more than two hours, the proctor will accompany you to the restroom.

  • Is it possible to arrive late for an exam held at the center?

Even for exams at the center, you are allowed to arrive up to 30 minutes late.

  • Is it possible to have the exam read aloud?

Yes, it is possible to have the text read aloud when you highlight it on the questionnaire screen and to listen to it through headphones.

**Please pay attention to the specific audio instructions posted in your exam room.

  • I have adjustments. How do I receive them?

It’s important to know that most accommodations are already arranged by the testing center, and in any case, you must request them 10 days in advance of the date you registered for the exam. Therefore, it’s important to schedule the exam for dates that work for you.

  • I have been granted extra time—will I be allowed to use it during the test at the testing center?

Students who are eligible for extra time do not need to request this accommodation; the computer will shut down only after the extra time allotted to each student has elapsed.

  • When are the grades posted?

At the end of the day at 10:30 p.m., and on Fridays until 3:00 p.m. that same day.

  • Where can I see my grades?

You can view your exam score in the Student Information Center under the menu:

  • Exams and Appeals Held at the Testing Center
  • And also on the "Exams and Assignments" menu page Access to online exams

Important: The final grade for the course will be calculated for the entire program as a whole, upon completion of the exam period set by the Computerized Testing Center.

  • Can I appeal the exam score?

Yes, you can file an appeal within 7 days of the date the grade is posted.

  • Exam Appeal – How Does It Work?
  • You must register for an appeal through the Student Information Center for: Exam/Appeal at the Testing Center and go in person to the computer lab. There, you will be able to view the questions you answered incorrectly and submit your appeal.
  • The computerized system will assign pre-scheduled times only for appeals.
  • The appeal lasts 45 minutes
  • During the review, only the questions you got wrong will appear on the screen, along with the instructor's correct answers.
  • Questions that haven't been answered at all will not be displayed on the screen.

It is important to note that if you choose to file an appeal, you will not be able to register for the second exam until you receive a response from the instructor. The instructor will respond within 7 days, and only then will you be able to decide whether you wish to register for the second exam.

  • What if I registered for the second exam date and only later decided to file an appeal?

If you wish to file an appeal, you must cancel your registration for the second exam date so that you can register for the appeal session.

 

  • I filed an appeal and haven't received a response from the instructor yet—who should I contact?

To the Student Affairs Office, as is the procedure for any other exam.

  • How many test dates are there for each exam?

Only two dates, with no option for an additional date.

  • Is it possible to take the exam remotely?

No, the exam is administered exclusively at the exam center on campus.

  • Can I choose between an in-person exam and a computer-based exam for the same course?

No, you cannot choose. If your course has been selected for testing at the computer-based testing center, you can only take the exam in one way—at the center.

  • How will I know which exams from the list of end-of-semester exams will be held at the center and which will be held in the current format?

On your exam schedule, which is available at the information desk, check to see if one or more of the end-of-semester exams for your program will be held at the computer-based testing center.  

It is important to note that exam integrity rules are also enforced at the computer-based testing center; any violation of these rules will result in the proctors being referred to a disciplinary committee, both during the exam and during the appeals process.

 Please avoid uncomfortable situations.

  • You may not copy questions from the computer screen onto any document in your possession (draft notebook, scrap paper, law books, a note with your identification code, etc.).
  • The draft papers and notebooks provided to you can be obtained by handing over your ID card; at the end of the exam, you must return them to the proctor supervising the exam, and you will receive your ID card back.
  • Do not talk to each other during the exam
  • The use of cell phones and smartwatches is prohibited—they must be left in your bag, which is stored in your locker.
