The Judiciary comprises the court system in Israel, headed by the Supreme Court, as well as the tribunals.

The court system has three instances: the Supreme Court, the District Courts, and the Magistrate Courts.

The Department for the Investigation of Police Officers (DIPO) is a unique department within the State Attorney's Office, responsible for conducting criminal investigations into offenses involving police officers, both on and off duty. The department comprises two separate bodies: one handles the investigation stages (the investigative body), and the other manages the indictment and trial proceedings (the prosecutorial body) for police officers in various courts.

The Public Defender's Office is a unit within the Ministry of Justice that provides legal representation in criminal proceedings to suspects, detainees, and defendants who are entitled to representation according to the grounds stipulated by law.

Beyond its ongoing work representing clients, the Public Defender's Office also engages in institutional activities to protect the rights of defendants and suspects.

The National Insurance Institute is a statutory corporation operating under the National Insurance Law (Consolidated Version), 1995 – which was passed by the Knesset in 1953.

The Enforcement and Collection Authority was established in January 2009 as part of a comprehensive reform that separated the enforcement and collection system from the court system. The Authority was established as a subsidiary unit within the Ministry of Justice and is responsible for enforcing judicial decisions and collecting debts and fines. The Authority oversees two systems: the Execution Office and the Center for Collection of Fines, Fees, and Expenses.

The Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office (Civil) represents the state in civil courts in the Tel Aviv area and is the largest civil prosecutor's office in the country.

The District Attorney's Office has seven professional departments: Fiscal (Taxes), Commercial-Civil, Real Estate, Torts, Administrative Affairs (including personal status), Security System Claims, Integrated Enforcement, and Labor Law.
The District Attorney's Office operates against crime generators through an integrated enforcement program, in cooperation with the criminal district attorney's offices and other enforcement agencies. As part of this activity, the District Attorney's Office issues closure orders and revocation of business licenses, files restitution and tort claims, and works to confiscate proceeds from criminal activity.

The Administrator General and the Supervisor of Inheritance Affairs is a large and central organization within the Ministry of Justice.

The work of the Administrator General is carried out through headquarters units and districts spread across the country.

For organizing diverse areas of activity related to several legal fields, the main ones being:

  1. Management of Abandoned Assets – Locating, identifying, and managing assets whose owners are unknown for various reasons. These assets include real estate, unclaimed property, and funds.
  2. Supervision of guardians and guardianship alternatives
  3. The Inheritance Registrar – responsible for issuing inheritance orders and probate orders (in this capacity, there are also parallel authorities for the Rabbinical Courts (Rabbinic and Sharia), but to submit a request to them, the consent of all heirs is required).

In addition to these areas, the Administrator General is responsible for asset forfeiture, the concentration and distribution of funds transferred for the benefit of the state, funds awarded in class action lawsuits. The organization also centralizes gifts received by public figures, serves as a representative of the Attorney General on matters within its jurisdiction, and more.

The department operates with 4 divisions; some staff work in a 'pool' system, some have dedicated assignments, and others combine both. In its work, the official responsible for insolvency proceedings is a party to all such proceedings conducted in the country. Consequently, all the largest insolvency cases reported in the media are handled by this department (you are invited to search on Google ). Additionally, the official holds judicial powers in insolvency proceedings, and thus, part of the work involves drafting substantive judicial decisions.

The Department of Counsel and Legislation plays a central role in the government's work. Among the department's areas of responsibility are the following roles:
a. Advising and accompanying government legislation (primary legislation, regulations, orders, declarations, and more).
b. Interpreting existing law to provide the government with appropriate legal tools for advancing its policy, while simultaneously serving as gatekeepers to ensure that government activity is carried out in accordance with the law.

d. In the core areas under the responsibility of the Minister of Justice, the lawyers in the department serve as professional staff responsible for recommending to the Minister of Justice the advancement of policies. The Supreme Court stands at the head of the judicial system in Israel.
