Judicial powers in Israel are vested in the judiciary.

The judicial branch consists of the Israeli court system, headed by the Supreme Court, as well as the courts.

The court system has three levels: the Supreme Court, the district courts, and the magistrates' courts.

The independence of the judiciary is guaranteed against interference by the legislative and executive branches.

The Police Investigations Department is a unique department within the State Attorney's Office, charged with conducting criminal investigations into offenses involving police officers, both on and off duty. The department consists of two separate bodies and deals with the investigation stages (the investigation body) and the prosecution and administration of justice (the prosecution body) of police officers in the various courts.

The Public Defender's Office is a unit in the Ministry of Justice that provides legal representation in criminal proceedings to suspects, detainees, and defendants who are entitled to representation in accordance with the grounds established by law.

In addition to its ongoing work representing its clients, the defense attorney's office also engages in institutional activities to protect the rights of defendants and suspects.

The Central District Criminal Prosecutor's Office represents the state before various courts in criminal proceedings as well as in parole committees and prisoner petitions. The Central District is busy, bustling, and has a diverse population that represents the entire Israeli mosaic.

The Central District represents about a quarter of the country's population. The population concentrations in the district are dense, and some areas have particularly high crime rates. Recent years have been characterized by an increase in the number, complexity, and scope of serious crime cases.

"The Equal Rights Commission for Persons with Disabilities in the Ministry of Justice is the government unit responsible for promoting the rights and preventing discrimination of persons with disabilities in all areas of life. This is with the aim of fulfilling the goals of the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law and the UN Convention, bringing about the full participation of persons with disabilities in society and the economy, and realizing their full potential."
The Commission operates through legal tools, policy changes, and raising awareness among the general public in general and policymakers and professionals in particular.

The Commission's legal department employs approximately twenty lawyers and four interns who work in the following areas:
Conducting civil, administrative and criminal legal proceedings on behalf of people with disabilities or on behalf of the Commission, writing legal opinions in legal cases, promoting legislation and policy."

"The Israel Tax Authority is a government body that deals with tax collection in Israel and belongs to the Ministry of Finance.
The authority unifies the various tax departments: income tax, real estate taxation, value added tax, purchase tax, customs and stamp duty.
The authority provides services on issues of reforms, non-profit institutions, as well as information for employers, representatives, and the public.
The Legal Division of the Tax Authority handles issues on both the civil and criminal levels.
On the civil level, the division handles the planning and drafting of bills, and the provision of legal assistance to the State Attorney's Office, executive units, and field units.

The Economic Department specializes in handling "white collar" crimes. Its main focus is on government corruption cases and economic crimes that harm central economic entities and national infrastructure. The department also deals with sophisticated economic fraud cases, tax offenses, and sensitive security cases.

The Enforcement and Collection Authority was established in January 2009 as part of a comprehensive reform that included separating the enforcement and collection system from the court system. The Authority was established as a support unit within the Ministry of Justice and is responsible for enforcing judicial decisions and collecting debts and fines. The Authority is responsible for two systems: the Enforcement System and the Center for the Collection of Fines, Fees and Expenses.

The Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office (Civil) represents the state in civil courts in the Tel Aviv area and is the largest civil attorney's office in the country.

The District Attorney's Office has seven professional departments: Fiscal (Taxes), Commercial-Civil, Real Estate, Torts, Administrative Matters (including the area of personal status), Defense System Claims and Integrated Enforcement, and Labor Law.
The District Attorney's Office works against perpetrators of crime in an integrated enforcement format, in cooperation with the District Criminal Attorney's Offices and other enforcement agencies. As part of this activity, the Attorney's Office issues closure orders and revokes business licenses, files restitution and damages claims, and works to confiscate the proceeds of criminal activity.

The General Guardian and Commissioner for Inheritance Affairs is a large and central organization within the Ministry of Justice.

The work of the General Guardian is carried out through headquarters units and Prussian districts throughout the country.

The organization has diverse areas of activity, related to several areas of law, the main ones being:

  1. Abandoned Asset Management – Locating, discovering and managing assets whose owners are unknown for various reasons. These assets include real estate, movables and money.
  2. Supervision of guardians and guardianship alternatives
  3. Inheritance Supervisor – responsible for issuing inheritance orders and will execution orders (this position also has parallel authority to the rabbinical courts (rabbinic and Sharia), but in order to submit the request to them, the consent of all the heirs is required).

In addition to these areas, the General Guardian is responsible for confiscating property, concentrating and distributing funds transferred to the benefit of the state, funds awarded in class actions, the organization also centralizes gifts received by public figures, serves as the Attorney General's representative in matters within his authority, and more.

The work at the General Guardianship Office includes dealing with several legal areas: civil procedure, criminal procedure, execution, real estate and inheritance.

The attorneys of the Civil Department of the State Attorney's Office are responsible for representing the state in civil cases in the Supreme Court, by preparing written and oral arguments and summaries in appeals, requests for leave to appeal, and various motions heard in the Supreme Court.
The civil issues handled by the Civil Department of the State Attorney's Office are diverse and include many areas of law such as: commercial, contracts, torts, real estate, class actions, corporations and their dissolution, intellectual property, personal status, compensation and rehabilitation, environmental quality, regulation, etc. In many cases, there are interfaces with other areas of law such as the administrative, criminal and constitutional fields.
In addition to the department's function in representation in the Supreme Court, the department serves as a headquarters unit for all district attorneys' offices and government ministries and promotes policy formulation in the civil field. 

There are 4 districts operating under the division, some of which work in a "pool", some in linkage, and some in a combination of the two. Regarding the work, the Commissioner of Insolvency Proceedings is a party to every insolvency proceeding that takes place in the country - therefore, all the largest insolvency cases that we hear about in the media are handled by the division (you are invited to search on Google  ). In addition, the Commissioner has judicial powers in insolvency proceedings, and therefore, part of the work is to write substantive judicial decisions.

The Advisory and Legislative Division plays a central role in the work of the government. The division's areas of responsibility include the following roles:
A. Consulting and supporting government legislation (primary legislation, regulations, orders, proclamations, etc.).
B. Interpretation of existing law with the aim of providing the government with the appropriate legal tools to advance its policy and at the same time serve as gatekeepers, thereby ensuring that government activity is carried out in accordance with the law.
C. Legal support and promotion of government activities, support for government decisions, inter-ministerial teams, support for cabinets, and more.
D. In the core areas under the responsibility of the Minister of Justice, the lawyers in the system serve as professional staff members responsible for recommending to the Minister of Justice to promote policy. The Minister of Justice is responsible for a large number of legislative acts in various and diverse areas: the Penal Law, the Companies Law, the Arrest Law, the Pledge Law, the Associations Law, and more.

The Department of Management and Special Functions is responsible for all administrative aspects of consulting and legislation, including streamlining work processes and administrative processes in consulting and legislation, and is also responsible for improving cooperation with the legal bureaus in government ministries, with the State Attorney's Office, etc.

The Supreme Court stands at the head of the judicial system in Israel. The Supreme Court has two hats: one, the highest appellate court in the country; the other, the High Court of Justice (HCJ), which hears as the first and final instance petitions against public authorities and against rulings of various tribunals.

There are two types of internship positions in the Supreme Court: an intern for a Supreme Court judge, and an intern for the Supreme Court registrar.

Tax Authority systems in Israel are a group of systems; the transition to cloud-based systems in Israel is designed to improve the service.

The Tax Authority systems include the following main systems: Income Tax, Property Tax, VAT, Customs and Collection.
The systems provide services in various areas of reforms, institutions that are not subject to VAT and also information for assessors, representatives and the public.

The emphasis on accessibility in the Tax Authority systems is reflected both in the external design and in the internal design.

The internal design focuses on building and managing accessible digital forms for handling VAT and Customs, as well as for handling business in Income Tax, VAT and Customs.

The authorities of the judiciary in Israel are divided between the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court serves as an appellate instance for judgments of the District Courts in Israel, and as a High Court of Justice. When sitting as a High Court of Justice, it hears appeals against the decisions of the District Courts, the Magistrates Courts and the Religious Courts. There are three types of appeals: the High Court of Justice, District Courts and Magistrate Courts.

The powers of the judiciary are influenced by the changes in the powers of the investigative authorities and the prosecuting authorities, in order to allow scrutiny and expansion on the history of the judiciary and its influence in the State of Israel.
