Academic Assistance

Feeling lost with the material? Unsure how to handle all the assignments? Struggling to sit down and study? MATANA offers various academic support services: learning strategy sessions, academic tutoring, a writing center for academic writing support, and English language assistance.

The MATNA staff offers learning strategy sessions aimed at helping you, the students, acquire and practice more effective study methods. In individual sessions, our expert advisors will personally tailor learning strategies to each student, adapting them to their individual and academic needs. The sessions are designed to improve independent learning ability and enhance academic success.

It is also recommended to join our many workshops on various learning strategies.

To coordinate strategy meetings, please contact us through the student information desk under the Matna Center tab.

Academic tutoring is academic support provided by outstanding students (average 85 and above) from the faculty where the student requesting tutoring is studying. The tutor meets with the student during the semester for a weekly two-hour session, to help them study the various course materials as needed and to assist them in acquiring effective study skills.

Mentoring is personal and tailored to the specific needs of each student.

At MATNA, we believe in deep process-oriented assistance that enables continuous meaningful learning. Therefore, the goal is to start tutoring at the beginning of the semester and continue until the end of the exam period.
Accordingly, requests for tutoring should be submitted by mid-semester. We will find it difficult to respond to requests received at a later date. It should be emphasized that we will not be able to accommodate requests for individual tutoring that arrive close to the exam period.

Please note: Every student is entitled to apply for tutoring, and we will make every effort to enable applicants to receive this service, but we cannot guarantee that it will be possible.

Mentorship involves a subsidized payment of 500 ILS for 30 hours of mentoring (approximately 16.5 ILS per hour).

Interested in mentoring? Contact us through the student information station under the MATNA Center tab.

During the semester, we may also offer group tutoring in specific courses. We invite you to stay in touch and follow our announcements.

Writing is one of the central skills required during academic studies, but for many students, it constitutes a barrier and a particularly difficult challenge.

To this end, we established a writing center at the Academic Support Center, which aims to assist you with all academic writing assignments.

The service is provided in person on campus or via ZOOM meetings and includes teaching effective writing strategies while adhering to academic writing rules, assistance with reading articles, and familiarization with AI tools for writing assignments.

Several reference pages for effective writing are available to you:

  4. Breaking down questions for academic papers

Are you struggling with English studies?

Students with learning disabilities or difficulties in acquiring English, evidenced by repeated failures in exams of the same level, are invited to contact MATANA for tutoring sessions. These sessions are provided by experienced teachers specializing in instructing students with learning disabilities and language difficulties.

In addition, these students have the option to join an adapted English course. These adapted English courses replace a regular English course and are designed for students with language-based learning disabilities or those who have failed an English course at the same level twice. They are taught by English teachers experienced in learning disabilities and in relatively small groups.

A request must be submitted to the Student Dean's Office (Matna) to receive approval for participation in an adapted course. Participation requires a payment of 1000 NIS per course.
