Rehabilitation Group Facilitation Course
About the course
Group interventions are an important means of promoting recovery processes among patients and family members (Hadas-Grundman et al., 2021). Rehabilitation women* conduct a variety of group interventions, from task-oriented groups to psychodynamically oriented train groups (Yamin et al., 2022). The expectation and desire to conduct various groups in the world of rehabilitation in the community require knowledge of group processes and facilitation skills. The course offers a variety of tools that rehabilitation women can use in this area.
Course objectives
The goal of the course is to provide practical tools in the field of group facilitation in the world of rehabilitation, which are characterized by a wide range of types and styles. The course will integrate theoretical knowledge in the field of groups and practice, with an emphasis on practical tools that are adapted to the challenges that exist in the world of groups in rehabilitation, such as: using projective tools in facilitation, dealing with challenging events, tools from the world of psychodrama, and psychoeducational tools. In addition, we will learn how, through the ability to identify conscious and unconscious processes that emerge in a group, various components of recovery can be promoted: a sense of competence, meaning, identity, self-worth, hope, and various elements of functioning among its participants, and we will be exposed to the variety of groups that exist in the world of rehabilitation. In the training groups that take place at the end of each school day, we will be exposed to dilemmas from the field of group facilitation of course participants, and we will see how the principles learned in the course are expressed in practice. The group training will also include experience in peer supervision and receiving feedback on the supervision.
