Psychodynamic skills in individual and group rehabilitation work in the light of the recovery approach
About the course
Rehabilitation work is work based on interpersonal relationships. Rehabilitation counselors deal with a variety of mental limitations (reality testing disorders, PTSD, CPTSD, mood disorders, personality disorders, etc.). Working with a variety of coping styles invites an integrative look at rehabilitation processes. In the course, we will examine individual and group rehabilitation interventions from a psychodynamic perspective, and delve into the components of the rehabilitation relationship that promote recovery. Through case studies and transcript analysis of rehabilitation conversation segments, we will discuss dynamic processes that occur in rehabilitation relationships, and we will learn applied tools adapted to rehabilitation work in a wide variety of coping styles and mental states.
