A course for rehabilitation counselors, mentors and supervisors from the ultra-Orthodox and religious community

About the course 

Rehabilitation counselors, mentors, supervisors, and occupational therapists are an extremely important part of the mental health rehabilitation system. They meet directly with service recipients and work closely with them on their rehabilitation plan, with the guidance and guidance of professionals. Their role is central and extremely significant in the advancement of the person dealing with a mental illness, and they are the driving force in the field.

The intensive work done in close and direct contact with the lives of those involved creates many challenges that require a comprehensive and in-depth professional approach. The training course will provide rehabilitation counselors, mentors, and supervisors with basic and professional training in the daily work of mental health rehabilitation and the recovery approach, and will help them gain knowledge, tools, and professional skills for their ongoing work.

The course will address topics such as: the Rehabilitation Law and the Rehabilitation Basket Services, the vision of recovery and its translation into daily work in the field, psychopathology and pharmacology, the strengths approach, the meaning of hope in the role, active listening, rapprochement communication, boundaries in communication, and of course additional skills, tools, and intervention methods relevant to the work of the supervisor/mentor/credentialist.

The course will also expand the perspectives of the course participants, such as: understanding the perspective of the participants, understanding the family and its significance in the rehabilitation process, understanding the significance of using knowledge from work experience, observing the role of the consumer, the service provider, and the rehabilitation work fabric within the framework, and more.

In accordance with Ministry of Health procedures, this course is a requirement for working in the community mental health rehabilitation system. Rehabilitation counselors, mentors, and supervisors must complete the course designated for their position within 3 years of taking up the position.

Course objectives

  • Knowledge of the principles of the vision of recovery, and the basic concepts in rehabilitation work.
  • Knowledge of key approaches in rehabilitation work and acquisition of practical tools and skills for work.
  • Acquiring rich, professional and diverse knowledge relevant to rehabilitation work.
  • Obtaining tools for dealing with dilemmas and issues that arise during work.
  • Introduction to a variety of complementary services and supports in the community.
  • Strengthening the significance of the role as a guide/accompanist in the rehabilitation framework.

The course will be tailored to women from ultra-Orthodox society.

Course structure

The course includes 18 sessions, each lasting 6 academic hours. 

In the last two hours, a training workshop will be held in two parallel groups.

Participants

The course is intended for 30 rehabilitation instructors, mentors, supervisors, and occupational companions from the Haredi and religious sectors, from various rehabilitation frameworks.

Course requirements

  • Attendance is required for 90% of classes.
  • Active participation in classroom discussions and exercises.
  • Presenting a dilemma in the training workshop and developing it in a written assignment.
  • Submit exercises on demand.
  • Submitting a final paper at the end of the course .

Admission conditions

  • Rehabilitation instructor/mentor/trustee/occupational counselor in each of the areas of the community mental health rehabilitation system.
  • Completed at least 12 years of schooling.

The internal design focuses on building and managing accessible digital forms for handling VAT and Customs, as well as for handling business in Income Tax, VAT and Customs.

The authorities of the judiciary in Israel are divided between the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court serves as an appellate instance for judgments of the District Courts in Israel, and as a High Court of Justice. When sitting as a High Court of Justice, it hears appeals against the decisions of the District Courts, the Magistrates Courts and the Religious Courts. There are three types of appeals: the High Court of Justice, District Courts and Magistrate Courts.

The powers of the judiciary are influenced by the changes in the powers of the investigative authorities and the prosecuting authorities, in order to allow scrutiny and expansion on the history of the judiciary and its influence in the State of Israel.
