Rehabilitation work with people with multiple disabilities
About the course
In recent years, we have witnessed processes of change in the concept of psychiatric rehabilitation for people with multiple disabilities. Collaborations have been created between the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Affairs, in the form of joint regional committees. More and more people with multiple disabilities are eligible to receive a "rehabilitation basket" for their psychiatric disability. At the same time, most mental health rehabilitation services in the community are not prepared to provide a response to the needs arising from the other disabilities that the person is dealing with, and as a result, this population has difficulty receiving appropriate responses to their associated needs. In light of this, it is important to make information and knowledge about additional disabilities accessible, and to gain in-depth knowledge of the services that exist in the community, outside of the rehabilitation basket.
