Sexual Abuse, for Rehabilitation Programs.
About a decade ago, specialized services for survivors of sexual trauma began to emerge, based on the understanding that this population
Needs a unique solution.
The course aims to provide practical knowledge and tools to rehabilitation teams to offer tailored support to this population within various rehabilitation frameworks.
People suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder resulting from sexual abuse have difficulty forming relationships and trusting others,
This hinders their ability to facilitate rehabilitation processes based on interpersonal relationships. Furthermore, the symptoms
The difficulties experienced by people diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder significantly impact this population
to function effectively in the community, and they find themselves moving from one setting to another and having great difficulty fitting in.
The course will include in-depth theoretical knowledge regarding the diagnosis of PTSD and complex PTSD.
In addition, we will demonstrate various practices that will help staff members support those in recovery. We will discuss
In dealing with complex issues and the many challenges of the rehabilitation process—all with the aim of helping those undergoing rehabilitation
To move toward a future in which they not only survive, but live and fulfill their potential.
However, it is important to note that this course does not make its participants experts in the field of trauma. To advance this expertise, further in-depth training in this field is required, as well as ongoing supervision for these professionals by trauma specialists.
Course Objectives :
- Introduction to the field of trauma and understanding the principles of trauma-informed care.
- Introduction to the characteristics of post-traumatic stress and complex post-traumatic stress.
- Characteristics of the relationship with individuals coping with sexual post-trauma, transference, and reenactments.
- Practical tools for working on symptom regulation and relationship challenges.
- Introduction to co-occurring diagnoses with post-traumatic stress.
- Precision of rehabilitative interventions.
Course Structure:
The course consists of 17 sessions, each lasting 6 academic hours, with the last two hours devoted to a training workshop divided into two groups.
Participants
This course is designed for 30 professionals, treatment coordinators, and managers of community rehabilitation frameworks, with at least one year of experience.
Course Requirements
- Mandatory attendance in 90% of classes.
- Submission of a case study in the training group, followed by a reflective submission.
- Submission of assignments throughout the course, including references to relevant theoretical articles and materials.
- Submission of a final course assignment
Admission Requirements
A professional working in community mental health rehabilitation in any of the roles.
Course cost:
Cost per participant: 1,050 NIS. Ministry of Health contribution: 2,390 NIS.
